The most charming beach on the planet. In addition to swimming and bathing in the fresh water, there are many water sports activities that attract tourists at these beaches such as: canoe pulling, jet skiing, parasailing on the sea.
Because this year’s September 2 holiday, everyone only has one day off, so taking the whole family on a beach vacation is an ideal choice. However, on this day there will be many people going there to rest, so if you want to have a beautiful space you should bring your family early and make a reservation.
Son Tra Peninsula
Son Tra Peninsula is only about 10km from the center of Da Nang. This place is considered the “green lung” of Da Nang thanks to the nature reserve that preserves rich and diverse flora and fauna. Coming here, you can visit some of the following famous places with everyone:
– Linh Ung Bai But Sacred Pagoda: This temple has a massive, unique architecture that combines spirituality and modernity. One of the main highlights at the pagoda is the Guanyin Buddha statue, which is recorded as the highest in Vietnam (67 m) with 17-storey tower. With her body leaning against the mountain, the Buddha statue looks out to the East Sea to pray for the waves to calm down and to bless the fishing villagers at her feet with warm clothes and abundant rice and good harvests. From here, you can see the entire Son Tra peninsula area. During the day there are blue waves, at night the city lights up in shimmering colors. In the distance is Cu Lao Cham, sometimes hidden in the mist.
– Thousand year old banyan tree: The banyan tree is known as the “village elder” of the mountains and forests on Son Tra peninsula and is more than 1,000 years old. The tree is about 26 m high, facing the sea to receive sunlight. Surrounded by 26 secondary roots reaching down to the ground, creating a solid frame, supporting the wide, intertwined canopy. If you have visited this banyan tree, you should also go to Hawk’s Cape by going straight into the forest and then following a trail leading to the sea. Although the scenery is majestic, you should only visit with a guide because not everyone knows this place.
– Top of the chess board: If you want to reach the top of the fairy chess board, you will have to climb steep slopes and it will take a little more strength to climb this place through dozens of stairs but it is completely worth it. You will enjoy the cool, fresh air and easily see the panoramic view of the city blending with the sea, mountains, and clouds. Son Tra Peninsula also appears with a golden sand coastline, bustling residential areas and many bridges spanning the Han River. The most prominent feature is the statue of a fairy playing chess. On a sunny day, you can see over the city. If the weather is foggy, you will be surrounded by clouds like in a fairyland. Perhaps that’s why the fairies chose this place to hang out and play chess as the ancients told each other.
– Heliport, radar station: The heliport is one of the remaining war vestiges on Son Tra peninsula. This place was built by the US military in 1965, and can accommodate 16 aircraft at the same time to serve the transportation of weapons, vehicles, food and soldiers to military bases on Son Tra mountain. Currently this is an empty lot, but traces of the war are still left on the concrete floor and historical stone stele. The lawn here also becomes a beautiful photo spot with the clear blue sky.
– See the red-shanked douc langur: In Son Tra Peninsula, there are many rare wild animals such as deer, monkeys, gibbons, orangutans, douc langurs, red-faced chickens and captivating natural scenery. Son Tra is also one of the residences of a rare animal species, known as the queen of primates – the red-shanked douc langur.
