On December 20, Vinaphone network officially commercialized the 5G network and therefore in Vietnam, users can currently choose Viettel or Vinaphone 5G network to access high-speed internet. Below is a summary of the latest 5G packages of these two networks in 2025.
1. Latest 5G Viettel packages in 2025 for both prepaid and postpaid subscribers
Viettel is the first network operator in Vietnam to commercialize 5G network, and until now it has quite a variety of Viettel 5G packages for users to choose from.
1.1. Viettel 5G daily package
If you want to experience the speed of Viettel’s 5G network without spending a large amount of money, phone users can register for Viettel 5G daily packages. However, Viettel has not yet deployed daily 5G packages. We will update as soon as possible if this package is deployed.
1.2. Viettel 5G monthly package for prepaid subscribers
By the end of December 2024, Viettel has deployed a total of 11 5G packages for prepaid subscribers. Specifically, customers can refer to the following table:

Thus, the average price of Viettel’s prepaid 5G network package only falls to about 800 – 1125 VND/1GB of 5G traffic. This price, compared to 4G packages, is not more expensive but cheaper. In addition, all packages come with incentives such as free texting and free calling minutes, so they are very reasonable for users.
1.3. Viettel 5G package for postpaid subscribers
For postpaid subscribers, Viettel is deploying a total of 8 Viettel 5G packages for postpaid subscribers with costs ranging from 200,000 – 2,000,000 VND/month. These packages all come with free internal and external calling minutes, messages… so they are also very reasonable for users. For details, you can refer to the following version:

1.4.How to register for Viettel 5G package
Method 1: Compose a message
The general registration syntax of Viettel 5G packages is to compose a message send package_code to 191.
For example, to register for Viettel’s 5G package for prepaid subscribers at a price of 135,000 VND/month for 4GB of free 5G traffic/day, customers only need to compose the message 5G135 and send to 191.
Method 2: Press the syntax *098#
Here, Viettel will return results of 5G packages you can choose from and just press the numbers according to the instructions to simply register for Viettel 5G package.
Method 3: Go to My Viettel application
In the My Viettel application, users can follow the instructions to register for Viettel 5G package to choose the appropriate package.
Method 4: Access hub.vietteltelecom.vn This is Viettel’s specialized channel for customers using 5G and here users can easily register for Viettel’s 5G package.

2. Latest Vinaphone 5G packages for prepaid and postpaid subscribers in 2025
Along with Viettel, Vinaphone has currently also deployed 5G network in 63/63 provinces/cities. And according to the network operator’s announcement, all 4G Vinaphone subscribers and 5G-enabled phones can use Vinaphone 5G network without registering for a new package.
However, because the traffic using the 5G network will be larger than that of 4G, if you want to use 5G continuously without interruption, users can register for Vinaphone 5G package for your subscribers. 3. Is it necessary to change 4G SIM to 5G SIM?
The answer is ARE NOT
Currently, both Viettel and Vinaphone have said that customers who want to use the 5G network do not need to change their 4G SIM to a 5G SIM like when switching to 2G or 3G networks before. Therefore, if you are using a 4G SIM and the phone supports 5G, you only need to turn on 5G on the device to use the 5G network.
How to turn on 5G network on mobile phones as follows:
With iPhone
Step 1: Customers enter Setting (Settings) ->> Mobile (Mobile service) ->> Options mobile data (Mobile data option).
Step 2: In section Mobile data options (Mobile data option), customer chooses Voice & Data (Voice & Data) and select 5G mode (5G auto).
With Android phones (Samsung, OPPO, Xiaomi…)
Step 1: Open the icon Setting (Settings) on the Android screen.
