Design and connectivity

The soundbar line is always attractive in its compact shape. The curved rear panels are stylishly designed in glossy black, the front is covered in black fabric wrapped in a gray frame. If you sit from the sofa to admire the masterpiece, it simply blends into your entertaining space.

At just 960mm wide, it’s probably the best match for a 40 to 50-inch TV, which if placed under a 55-inch screen looks quite small. You can mount these soundbars on the wall or simply stand them on top of the mouth cushion rubber.

The quality is not in dispute but the body design loudspeaker Made of plastic, it doesn’t feel very pleasant to the touch. However, with the stated price, this is not surprising or disappointing.

Visible details are a small “KS” logo on the front and a trio of small lights that act as Bluetooth indicators, remote control and subwoofer. A text display would be more useful as the LEDs are arranged quite dimly when viewed from the sofa. On the top of the speaker, you will see a row of 4 hard buttons to adjust standby mode, input selection and volume.

The rear panel offers a pleasant surprise. There are 2 HDMI connection ports and a compatible ARC output port, allowing you to connect Blu-ray and other devices through soundbars to TVs. Integrating an HDMI input is common in most soundbars in this price range, but Kitsound makes a difference. Furthermore, ARC support allows you to enjoy programs from your TV tuner without building a dedicated fiber optic cable.

There’s also an additional optical input that provides a single cable connection to the TV. Adding RCA sockets and a 3.5mm jack is something that most soundbars in this price range don’t offer.

The black subwoofer is not the most beautiful, but it is designed to be extremely compact (with dimensions of only 270 x 205 x 240mm). You can place it in a tight space and the wireless connection to the soundbar allows you to place it anywhere you want.

Features

Upstage is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 connection to meet your online entertainment needs, combined with 4 sound modes suitable for different formats – Music, Movie, Game and Night.

Night mode lets you hear sounds at low frequencies so as not to disturb anyone, while Movie mode provides a virtual surround effect for a wider field. The game provides a completely different game sound experience, and Music mode makes each sound clear and vivid, optimized to suit your needs.

Work

Upstage is very easy to install, only taking a few minutes to install the entire speaker. Optical inputs provide the simplest connection method, but connecting to an HDMI input device is a bit more complicated. The sockets face down, which is suitable if you mount it on the wall, but if placed on a table, you should use the 90º HDMI adapter provided by the company.

To use ARC, you need to enable the features in your TV’s settings menu. We had no trouble working with the TV Samsung and even audio from devices connected to the TV’s other HDMI inputs.

The subwoofer pairs with the automatic soundbar, but there is a reset if the connection leaks.

Many manufacturers only focus on the soundbar’s design and forget about its quality, especially in the design of the remote control, but with KitSound it is completely the opposite. The remote looks perfect with clearly labeled rubber keys. Dedicated keys provide direct access to audio and input modes, while volume controls are located just under the thumb.

It’s great to use, but the flashing lights on the front are confusing and hard to see from the sofa.

Efficiency

It may lack a few features of our favorite soundbars, but we were really impressed by the KitSound’s audio performance. The sound quality is flawless with plenty of bass produced by the subwoofer which is a great plus.

With Blu-ray discs, using HDMI input, Upstage showed superiority in sound, especially the clarity and vividness of the sound of trucks opening their doors chasing each other in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The production of Treble sounds is also extremely impressive, you can pick out the clanking sound of broken glass or trucks crashing into police cars and even the rustling sounds of Spider when spreading his spider webs.

Dialogue is really clear and sharp, and even the voice of a cunning Russian like Paul Giamatti can be heard amid all the rumbling of trucks in Movie mode.

It all blends so perfectly, the perfect bass sounds combine closely with the incredibly vivid, sharp sounds. The finish is a thin, light sound that’s very smooth when you turn it off.

However, Upstage also has some problems with scale and performance. Loud, clear sound with ultra-thin TVs creates a great feeling of moving sound, but when the volume is increased to maximum, it’s not really perfect.

This is only a rare case when using HDMI and optical inputs, though; Switch to Bluetooth, the sound is much louder and stronger. Entertainment needs are now so perfect, the sound spreads evenly across the room with a balance between frequencies.

Should I buy KitSound Upstage?

KitSound Upstage is an attractive option at a reasonable price. Boasting sophisticated design, style and superb sound quality, rich bass and crisp, clear dialogue.

But the most outstanding feature of the product is probably the appearance of 2 HDMI inputs – rarely seen in soundbars at the same price, with built-in Bluetooth, 4 sound modes and wireless accessory connection, completing a list. book Great feature.

As we mentioned before, it will be perfect and impressive when the sound via HDMI and optical input is enhanced, no longer limiting the volume when watching movies.
