Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra, with its huge 14-inch OLED screen, is making a splash in the tech market. Not only does it have an impressive screen size, this device is also equipped with Xiaomi’s self-developed X-Ring01 processor chip, promising powerful multitasking capabilities to meet entertainment and work needs.

1. Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra design

In terms of design, Pad 7 Ultra inherits most of the features from previous versions in the product line. The entire back and frame are made from metal with a smooth matte finish. Although the screen size is the largest, its thinness is the most impressive, only 5.1mm.

Despite having a very large screen, the size of the Pad 7 Ultra is on the contrary the thinnest (Photo: C4ETech English).

The screen border is only 3.95mm thick, providing an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 93.6%, creating a modern and luxurious feel. However, this ultra-thin bezel design also leads to a small drawback: a small notch at the top contains camera. camera 32MP selfie. This notch can be inconvenient when holding the device in portrait mode, but it seems that this is a necessary trade-off to get the optimal screen design on a phone. tablet Premium 14-inch OLED. Xiaomi It also cleverly integrates LED lights to indicate camera activity, a small but significant plus in terms of user experience.

2. Screen: Ultimate visual experience

One of the most prominent features of the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra is the 14-inch OLED screen. This is the first time Xiaomi has used an OLED panel on a tablet, after experience with this technology on smartphones. The screen has a sharp 3.2K resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. High screen brightness, realistic colors, not oversaturated, and extremely sharp text display.

In particular, the tablet supports 4800Hz high-frequency PWM dimming technology, minimizing OLED screen flickering, helping to protect users’ eyes. Xiaomi also offers a Soft Nano screen version, reducing light reflection, suitable for outdoor use. 10-bit + 2-bit screen, supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+, along with 8-bit sound system loudspeaker Dolby Atmos, creating a perfect movie watching, gaming and entertainment experience. Although the 3:2 aspect ratio can cause black borders (letter-boxes) to appear on the top and bottom when watching videos, the excellent image quality and large screen size are still enough to overlook this minor drawback.

3. Performance: X-Ring01 shows off its power

Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra is equipped with Xiaomi’s self-developed X-Ring01 processor chip. Although based on the same architecture as X-Ring01 on Xiaomi 15S Pro, the version on Pad 7 Ultra has some differences in clock speed. Specifically, the clock speed of the X925 core is reduced to 3.7GHz, the A725 core is reduced to 3GHz and the GPU is reduced to 1200MHz.

Xiaomi said that this clock reduction is intended to optimize temperature and performance on a thin and light device like the Pad 7 Ultra. This has been proven through a 20-minute stress test: the device only reduces maximum performance by about 12% and the maximum temperature only reaches 42°C, concentrated mainly on the back. Compared to the Xiaomi 15S Pro, the Pad 7 Ultra has significantly better heat control.

In terms of configuration, Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra has two RAM options: 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5D, and three internal memory options: 256GB, 512GB or 1TB UFS 4.1. Even though it is only 5.1mm thin, the device still has a large capacity 12,000mAh battery and supports 120W fast charging.

4. Camera and other features

The tablet is equipped with a 50MP rear camera, suitable for scanning documents and taking quick photos. Xiaomi also offers a separate keyboard with trackpad that supports gestures, similar to Apple’s Magic Keyboard iPad Pro.

The HyperOS 2 platform supports Workstation multitasking mode, allowing up to 4 applications to be open at the same time with resizable windows. The USB Type-C port supports USB 3.2 and video output, but only supports screen mirroring. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the power button and works very accurately and quickly.

5. Compare with competitors and prices

Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra has a starting price in China of 5699 Yuan (equivalent to 20.5 million VND). Although it seems high at first, compared to competitors with the same screen size and OLED quality such as the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2, the price of the Pad 7 Ultra becomes more reasonable. In particular, Xiaomi’s most advanced version of 16GB RAM/1TB internal memory with Soft Nano Glass (about 26.7 million VND) is still much cheaper than the base version of Xiaomi. Samsung Tab S10 Ultra (12GB/256GB – price 31.3 million VND). In terms of performance, Pad 7 Ultra stands out from its competitors thanks to the X-Ring01 chip.

However, the X-Ring01 chip also has some limitations in driver and game support, especially in emulating Windows games compared to Qualcomm chips. Therefore, users need to consider their needs before deciding to choose.

6. Conclusion

Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra is an impressive tablet with a beautiful 14-inch OLED screen, strong performance thanks to the X-Ring01 chip, and many useful features. However, the price is quite high and some limitations on driver and game support need to be considered. Overall, if you are looking for a high-quality, large-screen Android tablet, with good multitasking capabilities and top-notch entertainment experience, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra is a worthy choice. But if your main need is gaming, especially Windows game emulation, then you should consider other options.
