Detailed Ha Long Bay travel experience 2016

Overview of Ha Long Bay tourism

Ha Long Bay is no longer a new name on the Vietnamese tourism map, so whenever Quang Ninh is mentioned, people immediately think of Ha Long Bay. Although many people are now flocking to pristine islands such as Co To, Quan Lan or Mat Rong, if they have not “looked” at Ha Long Bay, it is a huge omission.

Ha Long Bay has developed tourism for many years, so whether you travel independently or on a Ha Long tour, it is extremely easy, including transportation and sea and island services.

Means of transport when traveling to Ha Long Bay

* Stage 1: From Hanoi to Ha Long

From Hanoi, you can take two routes to get to Ha Long. One is from Hanoi, follow Highway 5 through Sai Dong intersection and follow Highway 1 to Bac Ninh; from Bac Ninh, follow Highway 18 through Pha Lai, Chi Linh, Dong Trieu, Uong Bi and then to Ha Long. The second is to follow the Noi Bai airport route, when you get to Bac Ninh, connect to Highway 18A and then continue to Ha Long.

From Hanoi to Ha Long, if you go by motorbike, it takes about 4 – 5 hours, by car it only takes about 3 hours to get there because the distance is only about 160 km.

If you want to go by bus, it’s even easier, just go to Luong Yen or My Dinh station and buy a ticket to Ha Long for about 150,000 – 200,000 VND.

In addition to the two means of transport above, you can also buy a train ticket departing from Gia Lam station to Ha Long, which takes about 5 hours. Another way of transport, more luxurious and modern, is the seaplane of Hai Au Airlines. Not only will you save time to get to Ha Long Bay, but you can also capture images of this city from a height of 150m to 3000m above sea level. Of course, not everyone can travel by seaplane because it is very expensive.

* Stage 2: Visit Ha Long Bay

If you want to travel within the city, you can hire a taxi to go, but if you want to go to the bay, you need to buy a boat ticket. The ticket price is about 150,000 VND/person. If you go with your family or a group, you should hire a private boat, each boat costs about 1.5 – 1.7 million VND, the tour time is from 4 to 6 hours.

4 hour tour includes: Thien Cung Cave, Dau Go, Hon Ga Choi, cruising around the Bay at close range.

6 hour tour includes: Thien Cung Cave, Hon Ga Choi, Titov beach, cruising around the Bay with longer distances.

So, the more hours you take the train, the more places you can visit, and the price is not much more expensive, so if you’ve already gone, don’t regret it.
