Documents to prepare when flying

For domestic flights

For children:

* For children under 12 years old or from 12 to 14 years old without a passport, one of the following requirements must be met.

– Accompanied by a legal representative aged 18 or older.

– Accompanying the passenger is the person who checks in for the plane and accompanies the entire journey, registered with the airline when purchasing the ticket.

– There is a commitment from the original carrier representative to take care of passengers until the end of the journey.

* For children under 14 years old, one of the following documents must be presented:

– For passengers with Vietnamese nationality: must present one of the following documents:

+ Passport;

+ Birth certificate; In case the child is under 1 month old and does not have a birth certificate, he/she must have a birth certificate with the parents’ names according to regulations;

+ Certification from the social organization for children being raised by the social organization.

– For passengers with foreign nationality: must present passport.

* For people 14 years and older:

– For passengers with Vietnamese nationality: must present one of the following documents:

+ Passport;

+ Identity card;

+ Identification cards and certifications of the armed forces;

+ National Assembly Delegate card; Party membership card; Journalist card;

+ Car and motorbike driving license;

+ Aviation security control card; Identification cards of Vietnamese airlines;

+ Identity card certified by the ward or commune police where you reside.

– For passengers with foreign nationality, it is required: passport or note from a diplomatic or consular agency certifying the passenger’s identity, with a photo, a stamp, and an explanation for the loss of the passenger’s passport, certified by the local police.

ATTENTION:

– Passenger documents used to travel by plane must be valid and have a stamped photo, unless it is a birth certificate, a child’s birth certificate, a security control card or airline identification cards.

For international flights

– When checking in for an international flight, you must present your passport or laissez-faire document or another document valid for entry and exit according to the regulations of the host country. Normal passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into that country.

– To be allowed to enter another country, passengers need to apply for a Visa to enter that country before departure. However, each country has different visa exemption policies. Before flying, make sure you check the latest information on visa requirements or entry requirements of the country you are traveling to.
