2 ways to make aloe vera gel for skin care at home
Making aloe vera gel is much simpler than you imagine. You just need to take advantage of the ingredients available in your home to own a box of “handmade” aloe vera gel that is not inferior to any other cosmetic product.
Method 1: Make aloe vera gel with a blender
Prepare : 1 – 2 aloe vera leaves, 1 blender, 1 paring knife, 1 small spoon, 1 glass bottle with tight lid, 500mg powdered vitamin C or 400IU vitamin E
How to do it:
- Step 1: Wash aloe vera leaves. Then, stand the aloe vera leaf upright in a cup for 10-15 minutes to remove the yellow resin contained in the leaf (this resin contains latex – an active ingredient that causes skin irritation).
- Step 2: Use a knife to remove the green skin of the leaves. Peel off this shell until you see the white part containing the gel underneath. If the aloe vera leaf is too large, you can cut it into pieces to make peeling easier.
- Step 3: Use a spoon to scoop the gel into the blender. Then puree this gel until it foams and forms a thick mixture.
So with just 3 simple steps, you have created aloe vera gel for skin care. The resulting aloe vera gel can be stored in an airtight container and refrigerated for about 7 – 10 days. If you want to keep it longer (about 1-2 months), mix previously prepared vitamin C or vitamin E into the gel.
Method 2: Make aloe vera gel without a blender
If your home does not have a blender, you can do it as method 1. After separating the aloe vera leaf, use a knife to gently scrape the gel into a glass jar with a tight lid. Then store in the refrigerator for long-term use.
